Tibetan Singing Bowls

Since ancient times, Singing Bowls have been used in Tibet and Nepal, mostly by
Buddhist monks, for healing, prayer, meditation, during ritual ceremonies and
in sacred offerings to all beings.  The pure and soothing vibrations created
by Singing Bowls are also used to purify negative influences, increase
positive energy and restore harmony and balance.  They come in
many shapes and sizes and are made using the seven metals,
copper, tin, lead, iron, zinc, silver and gold.

How to Play a Singing Bowl
Singing Bowls are played by tapping, hitting or striking the bowl with
a wooden stick, or by making them "sing."  Bowls are made to "sing"
by rubbing the outer edge with a wooden stick, producing a chord
of harmonic tones.  The sound is soothing and relaxing
and induces inner peace and tranquility.
